Is this a conspiracy? Why are so many asking: “Where is Paraguay? ”? Why is everyone stunned that anyone would visit Paraguay? No, Paraguay is not in Asia, not in Ireland, and not inside Uruguay? It is not either a product of J.K. Rowling’s fertile imagination introduced in the latest installment of Harry Potter.
One would, however, agree that the American MSM (main stream media) have not given much antenna time or front-page acreage to Paraguay. My motivation to visit Paraguay is both affective and nerdy.
Two decades ago, during my post-graduate training, I met Blanca. She had a German last name and a sultry accent. She was a wonderful piece of art with a genuine beating heart. She was a mysterious and attractive composite in a physician wardrobe, She came from an exotic caliphate called Paraguay. I promised her that The Traveller, one day, would visit her country.
Among the 33 countries and 12 dependencies in the Americas, only two are completely landlocked: Bolivia and Paraguay. I visited Bolivia in 2012. Therefore, I am here in Paraguay to both keep a promise and shorten my bucket list.
